How long will the results
of my plastic surgery last?
Plastic surgery lasts forever. That doesnt mean that your appearance wont change. As time goes by you will, of course, grow older and you will slowly age. But imagine your plastic surgery makes you look 10 years younger, then you will always look 10 years younger, even as you grow older. So you will always look better or younger than your imaginary twin who did not have cosmetic surgery.
Will plastic surgery leave a scar?
All surgery leaves scars. Plastic surgeons utilize techniques which are designed to leave the best scar possible. We also try to hide scars in areas of the body or face which are difficult to see. Your scar will be red for a few months and then will slowly start to fade. In most patients the scars eventually fade to a white line. In most patients the scars, while present, are faint, hidden and difficult to see.
What can I do to improve my scar?
There are many things the patient can do to help scars fade. Proper wound care in the healing period is important. We will give you instructions on how to take care of your wound in the post-operative period. This will help healing and ultimately the appearance of the scar. At The Plastic Surgery Clinic we use new techniques such as silicone pad application to make your scars look better.
Do I need to lose weight before my plastic surgery?
It is usually not necessary to lose weight before undergoing plastic surgery. Patients who are very overweight may need to start weight reduction before surgery but trying to lose weight down to a level which is impossible to live at is never a good idea.
What will happen if I gain or lose weight after my surgery?
Many patients lose weight after plastic surgery. Patients
who have had liposuction, tummy tuck or breast reduction often
find that their plastic surgery has given them the head start
they need and subsequently go on to experience significant weight
reduction after surgery. Patients who maintain their weight
find that their plastic surgery results are also maintained.
What will happen if I become pregnant after my surgery?
It is perfectly acceptable to become pregnant after plastic
surgery. Plastic surgery will not affect your ability or the
safety to have children. Your body will go through the natural
changes which are associated with pregnancy. This means that
for some surgery, your appearance will change after having children.
In most cases however you will always look better than if you
did not have the plastic surgery.
How much time off will I need after my surgery?
Most patients need at least a week off work or school after
having plastic surgery. Trying to return sooner will be difficult,
can result in more bruising and will just slow down the entire
healing process. Some operations require more time off. Gentle
working out can usually be resumed after 2 weeks and most patients
can resume normal sporting activities in 4 to 6 weeks.
Does cosmetic breast surgery affect my risk of breast cancer?
No. Many medical studies have conclusively shown that breast
augmentation, breast reduction and breast lift do not increase
your risk of breast cancer. In fact a few studies have shown
that patients who undergo these procedures have a lower risk
of breast cancer than normal women.
Will there be much pain with my plastic surgery?
During your operation you will have no pain. Most patients
are pleasantly surprised that they had less pain after their
operation than they thought they would.
Does your clinic charge a consultation fee?
There is a $100.00 consultation fee for the first visit
only that is applicable to the cost of surgery should you decide
to proceed.

receive re-imbursement for their surgery from insurance companies.
Some operations, such as breast reduction, may be partially
paid for by insurance with prior approval.
Is plastic surgery expensive?

Payment plans have made plastic surgery financially available
to an even greater number of people. Plastic surgery is a permanent
investment in how you look. Prices for most operations may be

the price may vary with the patients condition. Dr Lista
will give you the exact price of your operation at your consultation.
